Day 1: Arrive at Kigali, transfer to your hotel

Day 2: City tour of Kigali, transfer to Musanze

Day 3: Gorilla trekking

Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Arrive at Kigali International Airport

Upon arrival at Kigali International Airport, you will be met by your driver guide. You will then transfer to your hotel in Kigali, where you’ll spend the night and enjoy a nourishing breakfast.

Day 2: Kigali City Tour and Travel to Musanze

After breakfast, go for a morning city tour, visiting interesting spots along the way. Stop for lunch in the city before being transferred to the twin lakes of Bulera & Ruhondo. These are beautiful lakes located at the base of Volcano Muhabura and close to the border with Uganda. Their deep blue waters, ringed by steep hills and tall waterfalls, with the outlines of the nearby Virunga Volcanoes hovering in the distance, provide a spectacular backdrop.

Day 3: Gorilla Tracking in Rwanda

After an early breakfast, you will proceed to the National Park headquarters at Kinigi to meet your guides for the day. Complete our park formalities, and then embark on a spectacular mountain tracking adventure. Once you spot them, you will be able to spend an hour watching your long-lost cousin in his natural habitat. The trekking will be strenuous; up to six hours or longer at a relatively high altitude. Return to your hotel for lunch, dinner and overnight.

Day 4: Tracking the Golden Monkey in Rwanda

This day is set out for Golden Monkey tracking in the Volcanoes National Park. Entering dense stands of bamboo interspersed with open glades; you will make your way deep into golden monkey territory.  Though viewing is kept to a maximum of one hour, travellers can get an up-close look at the golden monkey in its natural habitat.

Return to your hotel to freshen up and have lunch. Then join us on an interesting trip to the local brew makers, to understand the chemistry involved in the process of brewing a traditional beer from bananas fruits. Later, return to the hotel for dinner and overnight accommodation.

Day 5: Departure

After breakfast, our guide will be waiting to pick you up, and you will be taken for a 2-hour drive to Kigali. Proceed to Kigali International Airport for your flight back home.
